Register for an internship seminar course (see list by major below) and pay tuition based on the number of credits. Register at the beginning of the semester you'll be completing your credit internship; retroactive internship credit is not granted. Credit internships normally count as electives. Some academic departments allow a second internship for credit towards graduation (not another elective). Calvin will accept 12 internship credits. Any over 12 will not be counted for graduation.
If you are not eligible for an internship course, you can still complete a non-credit internship to gain professional experience. If you are unsure what is best for you, contact your career coach for assistance.

- Business: BUS 391 Business Internship
Description: (3) FA, SP, SU. Internships involve a minimum of ten to fifteen hours of work a week in a professional setting with an approved employer-supervisor in a business or nonprofit organization. Academic work includes readings, seminars, workshops, reflective journals, and a major paper or presentation. For business majors the internship must be in the student’s major discipline for the course to fulfill a major requirement. Prerequisites: BUS 101, ACCT 203 and approval of both the internship professor and the internship coordinator. This course was previously numbered BUS 359.

- Congregational and Ministry Studies: CMS 381 Internship
Description: Offered fall and spring, three credit hours, work at least 8 hours per week in internship opportunities in a congregation
Prerequisites: Junior or senior standing, permission of instructor and completion of at least 2 courses in the CMS minor

Description: Offered fall, spring, and summer, zero to three credit hours. Engineering students who complete engineering-related internship or research work may receive transcript credit for the experience. Completion of the internship course requires a minimum of 140 hours of experiential learning. Prerequisite: Completion of at least one year (>30 semester hours) of engineering program coursework.

Prerequisites: IDS 201 or SPHO 205, IDS 355 or STHO 212, Sociology 253, a semester educational experience in a developing nation or its equivalent, appropriate language capabilities, and junior/senior status
