The Honors and Collegiate Scholars Program invites you to celebrate the special people in your life.
Celebrate Gratitude Day 2021 with us on April 26!
Visit the Gratitude Day table on the Commons Lawn between 9:30 and 2:00 to write notes of gratitude. Deliver the notes in person or leave them with us to send or deliver.
If you are unable to visit the table, consider sending notes of thanks using one of the resources linked below.
In March of 2017 Olivia Haverkamp was diagnosed with a rare childhood cancer. She refused to be defined by her disease and provided cancer no more shelf space than she thought it deserved (not much). During the almost three years that Olivia had cancer, she hiked to Machu Picchu, snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef, attended dances, delivered speeches, earned a full-tuition college scholarship, and participated in the Calvin Honors Scholars program. These activities highlight Olivia's adventurous spirit, commitment to academic pursuits, and determination to live life wholeheartedly.
Another characteristic that defined Olivia was the sincere gratitude, appreciation, and kindness that she showed to others throughout her life. It is this characteristic that we celebrate on Gratitude Day!
