Environmental health and safety training is required for every employee (faculty, staff, student employee, intern, and volunteer) at Calvin College.
Additional training on a variety of environmental and occupational safety topics is also available. Examples of training that is offered include:
CPR/AED, FIrst Aid, Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, Hazardous Waste Storage, Disposal and Shipping, Medical Waste, Respirators, Hazard Communication, Crowd Management, Fire Extinguishers, DOT, Powered Industrial Truck, PPE, SPCC, Lab Safety, etc.
STUDENT EMPLOYEE TRAINING
- Level 100: For student employees working in an office or classroom setting. All other student employees whose departments are not listed below should complete this training.
- Level 200: For student employees working in the Science Division, Science Labs, Health Services, Nursing, Kinesiology or Coaching
- Level 300: For student employees working for the Physical Plant, Telecommunications, Campus Event Technical Services, Theater Scene Shop, Science Division Shop, Art Studios or Campus Safety.
