Online or on-demand viewing
- Is it necessary to sign up for email reminders?
No, signing up for email reminders is not required. You can access the current day’s presentation simply by visiting the January Series homepage and clicking the Watch Now button. You’ll be asked to answer a few questions before you’re given access to the presentation page.
- Do I need to register for the January Series or purchase tickets?
There is no pre-registration or tickets required to attend the January Series. The January Series is a FREE 15-day lecture series that takes place each year at Calvin University thanks to our generous and dedicated underwriters. If you are planning on attending in person at Calvin's Covenant Fine Arts Center, the doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the lecture begins at 12:30 p.m. If you are planning to watch online with our on demand viewing, you can access the current day’s presentation simply by visiting calvin.edu/january and clicking the Watch Now button. You’ll be asked to answer a few questions before you’re given access to the presentation page.
- Why do I need to provide my information every day?
Due to contract agreements with our speakers, we’re required to have online participants fill out a new form each day.
- What time will the daily presentations be available?
Beginning at 12 p.m. EST, you’ll be able to access the livestream; however, the actual presentation will not begin until 12:30 p.m. EST and will go until approximately 1:30 p.m. EST. Beginning at 2 p.m. EST, you’ll be able to access the recording of the presentation and will be able to access it whenever you’d like until midnight that day.
- I signed up for email reminders. When will I begin receiving them?
Email reminders will be sent out daily, beginning January 10, 2022. They will go out between 10 and 10:30 a.m. EST each weekday through January 28, 2022. If you haven’t signed up and would like to, you can do so here.
- Is the January Series available on Zoom?
No, Zoom is a platform designed for two-way communication. The January Series is a one-way broadcast from Calvin’s Campus out to the world. You can access each of our daily presentations from your personal device on demand from 2 p.m. EST until midnight PST. It will also be available to watch LIVE 12:30-1:30 p.m. EST.
- What does on demand viewing mean?
On demand means that each of our daily presentations will be available to watch from your personal device whenever you’d like, wherever you’d like from 2 p.m. EST until midnight PST. It will also be available to watch LIVE 12:30-1:30 p.m. EST.
- What devices can I use to watch live or on demand?
You can watch the presentation on your computer or other device that supports the following web browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge. This includes mobile devices including Apple iPhones and iPads and Androids. Simply visit calvin.edu/january and click the Watch Now button. If you’ve subscribed to the daily emails, click the link in that day’s email.
- Will any of the presentations be recorded to watch at a later date?
Yes, the following presentations will be recorded and available online after the recording.

- Are masks required in the Covenant Fine Arts Center Auditorium?
Masks are currently required inside all Calvin buildings to keep our campus community and guests safe. Please plan to wear a mask for the entire presentation.
- Where will I be able to find parking?
Parking is available on the east side of the East Beltline by the Prince Conference Center. A free shuttle with continuous service to the lecture is provided daily beginning at 11:15 a.m. and again immediately following the presentation at 1:30 p.m. You may board the shuttle at the entrance to the conference center or take the sidewalk which leads to the convenient skywalk across the East Beltline. - What time do doors to the auditorium open?
Doors to the auditorium in the Covenant Fine Arts Center open at 11:45 a.m. and the lecture begins at 12:30 p.m.
