Online or on-demand viewing

No, signing up for email reminders is not required. You can access the current day’s presentation simply by visiting the January Series homepage and clicking the Watch Now button. You’ll be asked to answer a few questions before you’re given access to the presentation page.

There is no pre-registration or tickets required to attend the January Series. The January Series is a FREE 15-day lecture series that takes place each year at Calvin University thanks to our generous and dedicated underwriters. If you are planning on attending in person at Calvin's Covenant Fine Arts Center, the doors open at 11:45 a.m. and the lecture begins at 12:30 p.m. If you are planning to watch online with our on-demand viewing, you can access the current day’s presentation simply by visiting calvin.edu/january and clicking the Watch Now button. You’ll be asked to answer a few questions before you’re given access to the presentation page.  

Due to contract agreements with our speakers, we’re required to have online participants fill out a new form each day. 

Beginning at 12 p.m. EST, you’ll be able to access the livestream; however, the actual presentation will not begin until 12:30 p.m. EST and will go until approximately 1:30 p.m. EST. Beginning at 2 p.m. EST, you’ll be able to access the recording of the presentation and will be able to access it whenever you’d like until midnight that day.  

Email reminders will be sent out daily, beginning January 9, 2023. They will go out between 10 and 10:30 a.m. EST each weekday through January 27, 2023. If you haven’t signed up and would like to, you can do so here

No, Zoom is a platform designed for two-way communication. The January Series is a one-way broadcast from Calvin’s campus out to the world. You can access each of our daily presentations from your personal device on demand from 2 p.m. EST until midnight PST. It will also be available to watch LIVE 12:30-1:30 p.m. EST. 

On demand means that each of our daily presentations will be available to watch from your personal device whenever you’d like, wherever you’d like from 2 p.m. EST until midnight PST. It will also be available to watch LIVE 12:30-1:30 p.m. EST.  

You can watch the presentation on your computer or other device that supports the following web browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Microsoft Edge. This includes mobile devices including Apple iPhones and iPads and Androids. Simply visit calvin.edu/january and click the Watch Now button. If you’ve subscribed to the daily emails, click the link in that day’s email.

Some of the presentations will be recorded and available online after the recording. 

Live, in-person viewing

No, the Q&A is only available during the live presentation.

Masks are currently not required inside Calvin buildings but this is subject to change based on local health recommendations.

Parking is available on the east side of the East Beltline by the Prince Conference Center. A free shuttle with continuous service to the lecture is provided daily beginning at 11:45 a.m. and again immediately following the presentation at 1:30 p.m. You may board the shuttle at the entrance to the conference center or take the sidewalk which leads to the convenient skywalk across the East Beltline.
