A Career in Diplomacy and the State Department

Foreign Service Career Officer Adam Vogelzang will talk with students about his own career in the U.S. diplomatic corps, U.S. foreign policy, State Department careers, and his experiences living and working overseas.

Vogelzang graduated from Calvin in 1997 with a degree in Political Science, got his Masters in international affairs from George Washington University, and has been working for the State Department since 2004.  He has served in Mexico, Armenia, Canada, Bermuda, and as the desk officer for Namibia and Angola in Washington D.C. His next assignment will be in Brasilia, and he is currently learning Portuguese in preparation for being stationed there. (Read more about Vogelzang and his Career in Calvin's News & Stories)
