A golden service opportunity

Every year, Calvin hosts the Special Olympics Michigan Southwest Regional Games on the first Saturday in May. Typically 400 athletes come to our campus and compete in various athletic competitions including track and field, swimming, bocce ball, and horseshoes. The winners from these games will go on to compete in the state championship!

Volunteer information

Calvin University students are asked to be Volunteers for the event. About 250 volunteer are needed in all. Some volunteer may be paired with 1–2 athletes and are responsible to lead them to their events, opening ceremonies, lunch and award ceremonies throughout the day. Others will help with progam events and general encoragement. To prepare for the day, volunteer must attend a brief training session.
