A golden service opportunity

Every year, Calvin hosts the Special Olympics Michigan Southwest Regional Games on the first Saturday in May. About 400 athletes come to our campus and compete in various athletic competitions including track and field, swimming, bocce ball, and horseshoes. The winners from these games will go on to compete in the state championship!

Chaperone information

Calvin University students are asked to be chaperones for the event. About 250 chaperones are needed in all. Chaperones are paired with 1–2 athletes and are responsible to lead them to their events, opening ceremonies, lunch and award ceremonies throughout the day. To prepare for the day, chaperones must attend a brief training session.
