Americana/Folk band Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors have been quietly accumulating a following over most of the past decade. Releasing his first album, Washed In Blue, in 2005, Drew Holcomb was later joined by the aptly named band The Neighbors, made up of his wife Ellie Holcomb, Nathan Dugger and Rich Brinsfield. Together the band has released four studio albums and several live albums. The band has toured these albums extensively, opening for national touring acts such as The Avett Brothers, Needtobreathe, Switchfoot and Jon McLaughlin while also embarking on several headlining tours. The band’s latest album, 2015’s Medicine, was released on Holcomb’s own label Magnolia Music and charted at number 47 on the Billboard 200 charts. The band has also had songs appear on the popular television shows How I Met Your Mother and House.

The music of Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors is a balanced blend of folk, country, blues, pop and rock influences, creating a classic Americana sound that has a contemporary pop appeal as well. As Hilary Saunders of Paste Magazine says, Holcomb’s songs range from “uplifting and autobiographical to pensive and lonesome.” As the name Medicine suggests, Holcomb’s latest work focuses on the healing powers of music. In the song “Here We Go,” he says,

Music, it makes you feel good, makes you feel understood
Like you’re not alone, not a rolling stone
Not the only one on the road

Music is not just a job for Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors, but a tool for understanding the world and joining together in community. The communal aspect of Holcomb’s view on music is brought out in the band’s intimate live shows with fans often joining in to sing along with his heartfelt lyrics.

Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors bring with them a passion for live music and a longing to connect with audiences. The project was founded on the premise of music being a way to join with those around you, a mission the band does take lightly. Despite an intense touring schedule and running their own label, the band’s love of the road has not been diminished. As long as Drew Holcomb & the Neighbors are making music, audiences can rest assured that the band will do all they can to provide a familial and community-oriented experience.
