CILER administers an annual Great Lakes Summer Fellows Program, in partnership with NOAA’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Lab (GLERL). This program helps place promising undergraduate* (junior or senior) and graduate students with both University and Federal research mentors.

Through this program, students get the opportunity to work on substantive research issues in the Great Lakes that, in turn, support CILER’s and NOAA’s research missions in the region. CILER supports cultural and gender diversity in an inclusive environment and encourages applications from women and minority individuals. Applications are due February 26, 2017.

Currently enrolled undergraduate (juniors and seniors preferred) & graduate students
Post-bacor post-masters students
Graduated within the past 12 months
U.S. citizen or a foreign national residing in the U.S. on a current Student Visa
Immediate relatives of any CILER or NOAA-GLERL employees are not eligible
