  • Duration: 11 weeks

  • Deadline: February 8, 2017

The Danforth Plant Science Center’s REU summer Internship program is held eleven weeks each summer and exposes students to a rich research environment.

The program gives students experience with all aspects of modern scientific research, from design to experimentation to reporting. Faculty mentors and staff provide insight into the personal qualities that make a good researcher, the process and training involved in becoming a scientist, and the broader impact of scientific discovery. The program is made possible through generous support from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. Applications are due February 8, 2017. A former Calvin faculty member (Hector Quemada) is the director of the biosafety network here, so Calvin students should be on their radar!

This year's application deadline has passed.

Applications are due by Wednesday February 8, 2017.

Students who have received their undergraduate degree (or will receive a degree before the program dates) and are no longer enrolled as undergraduates are not eligible for the REU program.
  • Must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S.**
