Heritage Class Corner of Campus: Birds & Birdwatching

  • Tuesday, October 1, 2019
  • 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
  • Covenant Fine Arts Center

Learn more about birds and birdwatching!

Join members of the Calvin Heritage Class for this fall's "Corner of Campus"—this year's event will feature Calvin's collection of rare Audubon prints and information on the world of birds and birdwatching. You will also have the chance to peruse select prints and fellowship with each other in Calvin's Center Art Gallery on campus.

Calvin Professor emeritus Randy Van Dragt is the director of the ecosystem preserve. Heritage Class member Bill Sweetman is a professional birding tour leader. Together they will share their expertise on the topics discussed.

Before and after the event, be sure to stop by the Calvin Campus Store to pick up a copy of Prof. Gary Schmidt's book Okay for Now. This young adult novel weaves the protagonist's interest in the Audubon prints with lessons of love, creativity, and survival in trying times. Copies of the book at the campus store will be sold at a discounted price for members of the Heritage Class.
