For this week's seminar, the Department of Biology hosts Dr. Russ Jelsema, Senior Medical Director of Reproductive Health at Natera.
Cell free DNA (cfDNA) is being used by obstetricians, transplant specialists, and oncologists to improve patient outcomes. This presentation will review cfDNA (What is it? Where does it come from?), discuss the technologies used to evaluate cfDNA, summarize current usage of cfDNA, and forecast future use of cfDNA for cancer screening.
