Fire from Heaven: Michael Faraday and the Dawn of the Electrical Age

Playwright Murray Watts and actor Andrew Harrison bring us this inspiring new play about a young man from the humblest background who rose to become one of the greatest experimental scientists of the 19th century.

Calvin University, the School of STEM, and the Calvin Theatre Company welcome playwright Murray Watts and actor Andrew Harrison to our Gezon Auditorium on Thursday, February 23, at 7:00 pm on the Calvin University campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA.

Mr. Watts brings us this inspiring new play about the life of Michael Faraday and how his Christian faith impacted his work as one of the most outstanding experimental scientists of the 19th century.

Please join us for the 70-minute play, followed immediately by a panel discussion with playwright Murray Watts and several Calvin professors (Ryan Bebej, Loren Haarsma, Arie Leegwater, Matt Lundberg, and Laura Westrate). After the discussion, attendees are invited to a light reception in the Spoelhof Center atrium, sponsored by the Calvin Science and Religion Forum (ScARF).

The play is sponsored by the John Templeton Foundation and produced by SCIO: Scholarship and Christianity in Oxford.
