Lake Superior Provincial Backpacking II

The "Coastal Trail" is one of the most scenic stretches of backpacking east of the Rockies. The rocky Superior coastline is a backpacking paradise. Students should anticipate moderate to challenging hiking, mastering back country living and travel skills, enjoying sandy beaches and primitive camping on the week long adventure.

Passport or equivalent is required.

Day 1 – Trip Orientation and Teambuilding
Day 2 – Depart for Lake Superior Provincial Park – Begin Backpacking Coastal Trail; Backpack to Robertson Cove
Day 3 – Backpack to Mouth of Baldhead River; Rock Jumping
Day 4 – Backpack to Rhyolite Cove; Waterfall Swimming
Day 5 – Backpack to Warp Bay; Enjoy a beach in the middle of the wilderness
Day 6 – Hike to Devil’s Chair – Solo Experience
Day 7 – Backpack to Gargantua; transport to Wilderness State Park CCCC Historic Log Cabins
Day 8 – Morning at Sturgeon Bay Beach; Return to Calvin College by 7:00PM
