Mad Farmer's Food Fest


Mad Farmer Food Fest is a celebration of local, sustainable agriculture in our West Michigan community. We dedicate a Saturday in the spring to hearing from local experts about how to eat and buy food in a creation-honoring way, get our hands dirty with informative workshops, meet community activists and share some fantastic food.

Event Details

Tickets will be available online for $6 or may be bought the day of for $8.

The event will take place in the DeVos Communication Center across the Beltline from Calvin College’s main campus. Parking will be available just outside the building.

Vendors, Workshops and Speakers

As you arrive, between 9:30 and 10:15, browse vendors from a variety of campus and community organizations while enjoying refreshments and live music by The Maybe Laters. Lunch will be provided by Brick Road Pizza. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options will be available. Day-of tickets will be available for purchase.

Each workshop session will include the full lineup of options, allowing you to choose two from a variety of our interactive topics lead by local experts from the community:

  • Bike maintenance
  • Composting
  • Gardening
  • Beekeeping
  • Essential oils
  • Raising backyard chickens
  • And more! 

Our first session will be led by Calvin grad Luke Eising of Provision Family Farms. Second session will feature Levi Gardner, founder and executive director of Urban Roots
