Come for breakfast with William Garvelink to hear about a career in humanitarian aid and diplomatic service! We provide the breakfast and the interesting guest – you get to hear about different career options, ask questions, and expand your horizons!

William Garvelink began his career in Washington, D.C., in the mid-1970s, first working as an aide on Capitol Hill for a Congressman from Minnesota for several years before moving directly into a position with USAID. He has been working on humanitarian assistance, international development, disaster assistance and democracy programs his entire career.

From 2007 to 2010, Garvelink served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of the Congo; he is currently a Senior Advisor for Global Strategy for the International Medical Corps as well as a Senior Advisor for the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
