GEO Seminar - Dune History and Activity - Presented by Ms. Jillian Herlinger, Mr. Peter Duimstra, and Ms. Grace Prom, Calvin University
This seminar previews three conference presentations that investigate dune history and contemporary activity. Herlinger will talk about using ground-penetrating radar to investigate the geomorphic history of Tunnel Park in southwestern Michigan. Duimstra will describe using ground-penetrating radar to investigate sedimentary archives of dunes at P.J. Hoffmaster State Park. Prom focuses on evaluating new plantings’ effectiveness for management on dunes where human disturbance continues.
