The Tempest Performance - CANCELED

The Tempest, by William Shakespeare

Shakespeare’s The Tempest transports us to a magical isle where beasts and fairies alike confound wayward travelers who dare to trespass on Prospero’s realm. It’s a tale of magic, deception, revenge, and passion. Usurped by his brother, the Duke of Milan, and set adrift, Prospero makes a savage island his home. For twelve years, he lives in isolation with his daughter, with the beastly Caliban and ethereal Ariel to serve them—until Prospero finds a means to avenge himself. A magician of great power, Prospera lures his enemies to his shore by shipwreck, where he torments the wicked and tests the unproven through magical means. Scattered and separate, the hapless survivors hatch plots and lose themselves, drink to excess and are bewitched by Ariel. One fellow, however, Prospero sets apart, intending him for his daughter Miranda. Youthful Ferdinand proves himself noble and worthy of Miranda’s hand. The story ends with judgements rendered, wrongs righted, a wedding and new beginnings for all.
