Preventing and Treating Alzheimer’s in the 2020’s: State of the Science
This lecture, presented by Dr. David Morgan, will review the history of Alzheimer's disease, and its relationship to other causes of dementia. The presentation will describe the accumulation of amyloid and tau pathology during the course of the disease, and how these accumulated proteins are thought to cause neuron and synapse loss. Finally, the talk will review the ongoing clinical trials that are testing various approaches to prevent and treat Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
