Peter and the Starcatcher written by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, is the prequel to the Peter Pan story. An orphan and his secretive new friend, Molly, overcome bands of pirates and thieves in their quest to keep magical star stuff secret and save the world from evil. High adventures on the seas involve two ships three orphans, two heroic Asters, two identical trunks, and two villains complete with piratical minions. Our story ends on tropical, exotic Mollusk Island as fish are transformed into mermaids, Peter learns to fly, Black Stache loses a hand, a crocodile flies, and Molly and her father succeed in their secret mission to protect the star stuff. Performed in a theatrical story-telling style, the cast and crew create magic with objects found and imagination run wild.

It's Calvin Theatre Company's 85th anniversary season and we are privileged to welcome you to our Create, Unite, Renew year of the arts! In 2018-19, we're exploring themes of gender, race, and reconciliation. We're glad for you to join in the storytelling and the conversation.

Peter and the Starcatcher is underwritten by an anonymous donor to Calvin College, and is also supported in part by an award from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs
