H.E.A.L.T.H. Camp

Health Education And Leadership Training for a Hopeful future (H.E.A.L.T.H) Camp is a free weeklong summer camp for young people from mostly medically underserved communities in Grand Rapids to learn more about their own health and health careers at Calvin University (Map).
Campers will:
Learn about exercise in the Calvin Sports Complex
Use microscopes to see human cells
Make healthy snack
Do hands-on activities at Calvin University’s Health Services
Learn about cool jobs in the medical field like nursing, speech therapy, occupational therapy, medicine, and social work
H.E.A.L.T.H. Camp is an electronic device free camp. Campers are asked to leave phones, tablets, smartwatches at home. If a child needs to bring a phone to camp, camp staff will collect and store the electronic device in a safe place during camp.
H.E.A.L.T.H. Camp Dates
All camps run from 9 am-3 pm.
Girls’ Camp
June 16-18, 20, 2025 (no camp on Juneteenth) for ages 9-11
June 23-27, 2025 for for ages 12-15
Boys’ Camp
June 23-27, 2025 for ages 12-17

Thank you for your interest in HEALTH Camp! Applications are due June 1. However, transportation may not be guaranteed after May 16. Email healthcamp@calvin.edu to see if spots are available.

Your application will be reviewed on the closest application review date. Our application review dates are February 28, March 28, April 11, April 25, and May 5, 2025. Once we review your application, you will receive an email on the status of your application and the next steps. Applications received after May 5, will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
