Being a student has its challenges, and we want to help equip you for the journey. Explore these free online resources, customized specifically for Calvin students, to gain knowledge, practice, and courage as you grow in emotional resilience during their higher education years.

Faculty/Staff Resources

Faculty and staff provide support for students in a myriad of ways at Calvin University. The Center for Counseling and Wellness is here to equip and encourage you in your role, as you work alongside students day in and day out to promote their success and wellbeing. The resources here will guide you in responding to students in distress, as well as keep you up-to-date on faculty/staff training opportunities related to mental wellness on campus.

Parent/Guardian Resources

Having a student head off to university is a major milestone in the life of a family. It can be especially overwhelming when parents/guardians feel unsure of their student’s access to needed mental health resources. The Center for Counseling and Wellness exists as the hub for mental health services at Calvin University, and we are here to help your student navigate the emotional complexities of university life.

Suicide Prevention Resources

Suicide is preventable! If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide, there are specific steps that can be taken to stay safe, find help, and feel better. By learning warning signs, gaining comfort in assessing risk, and knowing referral options, you can be part of the safety net that our whole campus needs for preventing suicide loss. We are all part of this community of belonging and care!
