Dedicated staff and resources to support your mental, physical, and spiritual wellness.
This video and the following details help describe services like the Center for Counseling and Wellness, Health Services, and Campus Ministries.
Center for Counseling and Wellness (CCW)
Free mental health resources for any undergrad student.
It all starts with a screening session to talk with a counselor and create a personalized plan for support.
The customized support plan may include individual counseling, group workshops, and referrals to additional care on or off campus, as needed.
Students can utilize Therapy Assistance Online (TAO), a free digital resource with self-guided tools and interactive modules to support mental health. The CCW also has also curated a list of other online resources categorized by topic.
Students can also reserve our wellness room with a massage chair, check out a light box, and access resources like journals and coloring books to help manage stress.

Campus Ministries
Wherever you are on your faith journey, we have opportunities to worship, ask questions, and grow in your faith.
Experience community worship at Calvin in a variety of styles, languages, and traditions. These experiences include:
- Chapel services every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
- LOFT (living our faith together) services every other Wednesday evening
- Other student-led gatherings like dorm worship
Join a small group to study the Bible, ask questions, and build meaningful relationships with other students.
You can also step away from your busy life and engage more intentionally with your faith and community on a spiritual retreat.
Use our church list or talk to Campus Ministries staff or other students about churches in the area. Some churches even provide a shuttle from campus. Many of them have tables at Cokes and Clubs, our student org fair on the first Thursday of the semester.
Campus pastors are here to listen and talk. You can make an appointment or just drop by. Our office is a welcoming space to hang out, grab some coffee, and connect.

Health Services
A comprehensive primary care health clinic right here on campus.
New students must submit health forms, immunization records, and insurance details.
Complete all health requirements by the end of September for fall semester, and February for spring semester, in order to avoid a registration hold in Workday and a non-refundable $50 late fee.
Health Services provides on-campus medical care so students can get support for common health concerns without leaving campus.
Appointments can typically be made for the same day or within 1–2 business days. Our year-round medical team includes a medical director, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, registered nurses, and medical assistants. We also have a sports medicine physician and a registered dietician available regularly throughout the academic year.
Take a Health Services tour:
During visits, students can receive point-of-care testing such as strep, flu, COVID-19, pregnancy tests, and blood glucose, as well as lab work sent out for further testing.
Many common prescription medications are available, with some covered fully under the student health insurance plan.

Sexuality programming and support
Ask questions around sexuality, identity, and relationships in a thoughtful and respectful environment.
Through events, student groups, mentoring, and collaboration between offices and departments, we invite the Calvin community to consider what it means to think deeply, act justly, and live wholeheartedly in relation to our bodies and our relationships.
We aim to give students and the broader Calvin community the tools to navigate this complexity:
- Information about sex and our bodies
- Guidance on healthy dialogue around contentious issues
- A culture of asking questions and exploring ideas
- Safe spaces to find support and community
Student organizations like SAGA (Sexuality and Gender Awareness) is a community of LGBTQIA+ students and allies who gather weekly for community-building and learning.
The Sexuality Series is an ongoing program of events that explores issues of sexuality and gender from a Christian perspective.
Calvin University prohibits unlawful discrimination based on race, color, national origin, age, religion, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, or other characteristics protected by federal, state, or local statutes or ordinances.
The Safer Spaces team will support community members who report an experience of harassment, discrimination, or retaliation.
