Student orgs, activities, and traditions
Join a club, attend a concert, and be part of something bigger. It's nearly impossible to list everything you could be involved in at Calvin. So here's a short list to get you started!
We have around 50 student organizations you can take part in. They range from academic to cultural to creative, and everything in between.
Many students say they end up involved in "a little bit of everything," giving you the flexibility to try things out, build community, and enjoy your different passions and interests.
The Student Activities Offices sponsors amazing concerts and performances, hosts movies (both new and old favorites), and puts on fun events for everyone. Events are promoted across campus, so it’s easy to find something to attend.
It wouldn’t be college without a few crazy traditions that you’ll tell your grandchildren about someday. With more than 150 years of history, Calvin has its fair share of ways to celebrate maroon and gold.
You don't have to "know everything" to join in. Just show up and be a part of it!
Play an intramural sport, climb at the climbing wall, attend group fitness classes, or go on an adventure with outdoor recreation! No matter your experience or skill level, you have a place on a team, on a trip, at the wall, or in a class. These are some of the best ways to meet people, make friends, and be active. CISD creates a welcoming, open-minded environment where students from all backgrounds can build community, connect with others, and feel supported. You can stop by to hang out, meet people, or just grab a snack.
CISD is here to listen, support, and help you navigate your Calvin experience. You'll get connected with people, resources, and opportunities so you can thrive academically and socially.
Through events, conversations, and initiatives like UNLEARN Week, CISD helps students explore identity, culture, and community while engaging in meaningful dialogue and learning.
Get involved through student leadership roles, affinity groups, and committees that help you build community, mentor others, and contribute to campus life.

There's always something to do on campus. Here's how to stay in-the-know!
Cokes & Clubs is a fair of clubs, organizations, multi-cultural groups, and churches that you can become involved with. It takes place the first Thursday of each semester.
Expect candy, games, giveaways, conversations, and student leaders who genuinely want to meet you. Most importantly, it’s a chance to discover your people and get involved from the very beginning of college life.

The Knight Life newsletter is an email sent to all students on Mondays throughout the school year. It's a digest of events for the week and weekend ahead.
