Upcoming Auditions
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
The Calvin Theatre Company is holding virtual auditions for And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie. This production is directed by Mary Huff, Calvin Theatre Company Guest Director. Auditions are open to ALL Calvin students.
This production features a cast of up to 11 performers. Please see this “Character Descriptions” document for details. A copy of the script is provided on the virtual audition submission form.
Rehearsals begin on Friday, January 31, and the show runs April 4-12. Please see this “Rehearsal and Performance Schedule” document for details. Rehearsals primarily take place on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons. There will be no rehearsals over spring break.
VIRTUAL AUDITION INFORMATION
Please submit a video of a 60-90 second memorized dramatic (serious—not comedic) monologue in the style of the show. We would prefer not to see something from this show, but you are welcome to use monologues from other Agatha Christie works if you would like.
Accents are not required for auditions, but we will ask for RP (Received Pronunciation—a standard accent of British English that is often considered prestigious), Cockney, or other English accents at callbacks.
Please film horizontally and be sure we can easily see and hear your performance. Film from the waist up with a simple, plain background. (Nothing that will distract from your performance.)
Your video submission should begin by slating (introducing yourself and the piece you will be performing).
“Hello, my name is _____________, and I will be performing a monologue from ___________________ by _______________________.”
Example:
“Hello! My name is Kristen Pearson-Eno, and I will be performing a monologue from Topdog/Underdog by Susan-Lori Parks.”
Audition videos must be submitted by 11:59 PM on Sunday, January 19th, to be considered for casting.

Summary: The world’s best-selling crime novel of all time comes to life! Ten strangers are summoned to a remote island--the only thing they have in common is a wicked past they’re unwilling to reveal and a secret that will seal their fate. As the weather turns and the group is cut off from the mainland, they are brutally murdered one by one in accordance with a sinister nursery rhyme. One of Christie’s darkest tales and a masterpiece of dramatic construction, its growing sense of dread and unfaltering tension will keep you guessing until the very end.
TW: This production references and/or depicts suicide and murder, some characters use firearms.
