September 10 and 11 in the Lab Theatre - REGISTER HERE
The Calvin Theatre Company is holding auditions for Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare on Tuesday, September 10, and Wednesday, September 11, from 6:30-9:30pm in the Lab Theatre. Auditions are open to ALL Calvin students. This production is directed by John Scritchfield, Calvin Theatre Company Creative Director and Visiting Lecturer of Theatre.

AUDITION INFORMATION
Please come prepared with a 30-60 second memorized comedic monologue from Shakespeare (or one of his contemporaries), and there will be group readings from the script. We will stop you if your monologue goes over time just to keep the audition process moving.

Plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled audition time to check in and fill out the audition form. The form is included on the audition registration form (linked above) if you would like to fill it out ahead of time and bring a printed copy with you.

Please only sign up for ONE audition slot. We will need you to stay for the entire hour you have signed up for, but then you will be free to leave and enjoy the rest of your evening.

Callbacks are by request only and will take place on Thursday, September 12, if necessary.

SHOW INFORMATION
Performances are November 1-9, 2024 in the Gezon Auditorium.
Fridays at 7:30pm, Saturdays at 2:00pm and 7:30pm
Note: School matinees are currently TBD, and additional information will be made available as soon as possible. (Shows will take place at 10:00am.)

Summary: The original "enemies to lovers" story with a 2004 twist. At the Messina Mall in 2004, our story revolves around two main couples: Hero and Claudio, and Beatrice and Benedick. Claudio falls in love with Hero, but their relationship is tested by the scheming Don John. Meanwhile, Beatrice and Benedick engage in a battle of words but are also drawn into a comedic romantic scheme. With witty banter, romance, a just a little bit of scandal, this classic comedy has something for everyone.

This show is rated PG for some spicy Shakespearian dialogue.
