About Student Senate
Student Senate was founded in 1918 as a group of students who could advocate for their fellow classmates.
Our team is composed of 19 senators who communicate with their fellow classmates about needs, wants, and passions in our community. We work on projects in teams throughout the year to address these improvements and come up with creative solutions to improve every student’s college experience.

Our mission
As servants of God and the representative voice of the student body, we link students and university decision makers, engage their perspectives, and pursue positive change with integrity.
Our values
-
Christ-CenteredEverything we do at Student Senate—our weekly meetings, brainstorming projects, and more—all comes back to our commitment to be agents of Christ’s renewal on this Earth.
-
Student-FocusedThe projects we create, policies we adapt, and programs we support are all propelled by student opinion. We assess student input with surveys, town hall events, and meeting with students one-on-one.
-
Results-OrientedTime is of the essence — and we’re not here to waste it. In a student organization that revolves around the busyness of college life, we dedicate our efforts into projects that are time-bound and attainable.
-
TransparentAt Student Senate, we believe that students deserve to know what we are doing. That’s why we keep students updated via social media, town halls, and more.
