Calvin University invests in campus-wide AI initiative to support student success
Calvin University takes a bold step forward in educational innovation, providing every student and faculty member with the tools, skills, and experiences needed to thrive in an AI-driven world.
As AI adoption accelerates across campuses, Calvin University is taking a decisive step forward — equipping its entire campus community with access to BoodleBox, a collaborative AI platform designed for responsible teaching, learning, and working. This initiative strengthens Calvin University’s position at the forefront of educational innovation and enables the transparent, ethical use of AI across every corner of campus.
Higher education is at an inflection point as artificial intelligence reshapes the professional landscape. Calvin University is meeting that moment head-on — providing students and faculty with the tools, skills, and experiences essential for success in the classroom and beyond.
This initiative will not only enhance current learning outcomes but also establish a foundation for lifelong learning through:
- AI-Powered Learning Innovation: Faculty can integrate AI tools into curriculum design to enhance teaching and create more personalized learning pathways, from adapting course materials to developing specialized bots that meet diverse student needs.
- Responsible Student-AI Collaboration: Students gain access to industry-leading AI models (including GPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and more), empowering them to develop essential AI literacy skills and to responsibly evaluate AI-generated outputs.
- Transparent Assessment Frameworks: In some cases, students can cite and share AI-assisted work, allowing professors to evaluate both process and product, from individual AI interactions to group projects, while maintaining academic integrity and fostering skill development.
"Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the way we learn, work, and solve problems. At Calvin, we believe our responsibility is not simply to react to that change, but to help shape it in ways that align with our mission and values,” stated Brian Paige, vice president of technology and chief information officer at Calvin University. “We're creating opportunities for innovation, critical thinking, and ethical engagement with technology. To support these efforts, we’re providing every student and faculty member access to leading AI tools through BoodleBox. This approach ensures our graduates leave Calvin not only AI-literate, but prepared to lead and serve in an increasingly AI-driven world."
To power this initiative, Calvin University has partnered with BoodleBox, a collaborative AI workspace purpose-built for higher education — giving students and faculty secure, affordable access to today's leading AI models.
France Hoang, CEO and Founder of BoodleBox: “Educational institutions are the cornerstone of innovation and learning, and it’s crucial that we provide them with tools to prepare students for an AI-enabled future. Through this partnership with Calvin University, we’re not just offering technology – we’re creating an equitable framework that ensures every student has access to AI and can develop the practical skills that employers increasingly demand.”
