Frequently Asked Questions about Moving Out

Cleaning supplies are available on each floor. Items for use are all purpose cleaner, disinfectant, restroom cleaner (toilet bowl cleaner), toilet brushes, magic erasers, and disposable microfiber cloths. Razors must be checked out during desk hours. Please return all bottles and razors for the next resident to use.

The halls close at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 3.

We encourage you to think ahead. We have found that students who plan ahead have no problem finishing their cleaning and packing after their exams. There are no Thursday evening exams, so that should help significantly. Bathroom checks will be the week before finals on Monday, April 22 while all suitemates are still on campus.

No. As shown in the check out procedure, the cleaning responsibilities are divided up among the residents of the suite so no one is stuck cleaning more than their fair share.

A community chore is one task that is given to you in addition to cleaning your own room. Examples include: wiping down the outside of coffee kitchen fridge with a rag and cleaner, bringing any dining hall dishes to the lobby, mopping the laundry room, etc. By having all students contribute in small ways, we prepare the building for summer use in a stewardly and efficient manner.

Students who have signed up for summer housing through the link above will stay in their current dorm room until Wednesday, May 8 at 10 a.m. At that time, they will move over to their assigned KE apartment.
