The Center for Intercultural Student Development is proud to sponsor the Calvin Food Insecurity Initiative. We provide access to food in a way that nourishes, empowers, and uplifts the dignity of our students in need.

How to donate or volunteer
Sponsor a meal for students
During academic breaks, the only option for some of our students is to live on campus. Not all of them are able to find adequate employment, and food insecurity is a concern.
CISD and Residence Life organize a meals for these students. Families or organizations can help in one of two ways:
- Bring food potluck-style and eat together with the students. This not only provides nourishment but also community and connection.
- Donate to cover catering costs for a meal.
Give online
We gratefully accept online gifts anytime.
Give food or time
We accept food donations and volunteer help (especially in December and April when students are busy with finals). Please contact Josh Samarco to find out more.
