How to apply to Calvin's adult degree completion program
Step 1: Apply for free
The application takes about 20 minutes to complete.
Step 2: Submit required materials
After you apply, you'll have time to gather and upload the rest of the required materials:
- Transcripts from any institutions you attended (official or unofficial)
- Personal statement
- Two letters of recommendation
Look for details and upload instructions on the application and your application status page.
Step 3 (optional): Intake meeting with the program director
This can be done before or after admission. It helps us see what courses you have previously completed, and plan your path here at Calvin. After this meeting, we'll be able to give you a realistic timeline for your remaining credits and semesters.
Step 4: Await admission decision
We'll send you an email with your admission decision soon after you submit all application materials. If you are admitted, we'll give you instructions on how to accept and complete the next enrollment steps. In the meantime, send any questions to continuingstudies@calvin.edu.
The enrollment deposit requirement is waived for all degree completion students. (If you see the deposit mentioned on your portal, no action is required.)
Who is eligible for the degree completion program?
Our degree completion program is tailored for adult learners who:
- Have completed approximately 60 college credits.
- Have a primary identity outside of “student” due to work commitments and/or family obligations.
- Crave a hybrid, cohort-based program model, where you'll be class together with other adult learners.
- Are typically 24 years of age or older.
While these are general guidelines, exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
International students
International students are welcome and will need to register for 12 credits during fall and spring semesters to be eligible for an F-1 visa.
Contact Jim Wilder for visa questions and Abbie Lipsker to arrange a virtual intake meeting prior to applying.
