Biography
Karen Krummel has taught cello at Calvin University since 1995 and was a full-time member of the Grand Rapids Symphony from 1989-2011. Her teachers included Samuel Mayes, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, and Louis Potter, and she participated in summer festivals at Aspen, Banff, Monterey, Los Angeles and Tanglewood. Besides her strong orchestral background, she is active as a chamber musician and has performed and premiered many contemporary works. Karen has performed as a soloist with the Calvin Alumni Orchestra, the South Bend Symphony, the Kankakee Symphony, and the Calgary Philharmonic.
