Dr. Benckhuysen is an ordained pastor in the Reformed Church of America and an adjunct professor at Calvin University where she teaches courses on the Bible. Prior to serving at Calvin University, Amanda taught at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary (2008-2014) and at Calvin Theological Seminary (2014-2021). She is the author of two books, The Gospel According to Eve: A History of Women’s Interpretation (IVP, 2019) and Immigrants, the Bible, and You (Calvin University Press, 2020), along with many articles published in academic and popular journals like The Banner and Reformed Journal.
