2019–2020 scholarship program guidelines and eligibility
Calvin has academic scholarships that range from $10,000 to $20,000. They are awarded in December and determined based on the student's overall admission application, including standardized test scores and academic performance in high school. Updated GPAs and standardized test scores are accepted electronically from the testing organization through March 1.
Students who have achieved at least a 3.1 GPA and an ACT test score of 21 or SAT test score of 1100 are very likely to receive at least the Faculty's Scholarship. The following academic scholarships are available for up to five undergraduate years with a cumulative Calvin GPA of 3.0.
Calvin-sponsored National Merit Scholarships are awarded to students selected as National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Corporation who select Calvin as their first-choice college. This award is offered in addition to Calvin’s $18,000 Trustee Scholarship.
National Merit Finalists are eligible to receive a National Merit Scholarships sponsored by one of the following organizations: National Merit Corporation, other participating corporations, or Calvin College.
Finalists are only eligible for one National Merit Scholarship.
Finalists must select Calvin as their first-choice college with National Merit Corporation to receive a National Merit Scholarship.
Finalists can change their first-choice college with National Merit before May 1, 2019. Undecided finalists have until May 31, 2019 to select a first-choice college.
Total Calvin-sponsored award value: $18,000
National Merit Finalists that require a fifth year of study will be eligible for the $18,000 Trustee’s Scholarship as long as they have a cumulative Calvin GPA of 3.0.
