Calvin University is excited to announce a new open enrollment graduate level business course, Leading in an Era of Disruption and Change. The four-week online course is designed to equip participants with the skills and insights needed to navigate and thrive amidst disruptive innovation, and is open to all interested working professionals
How Participants Will Learn
Over the course of four weeks, participants will delve into the world of disruptive innovation. Working individually and in teams, they will explore how some organizations struggle to evolve while others, more resilient and adaptable, are able to change, and in some cases, reshape entire industries. Through real-world case studies, participants will uncover strategies for change and gain valuable insights and practical tools to drive innovation within their own organizations.
How and When Participants Will Learn
The course runs from May 12 through June 7 and features a blend of self-paced online coursework, group work, and live online sessions. Participants have weekly deadlines to stay on track and the opportunity to participate in four live sessions with classmates and instructors from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the following dates:

Learn from the Best
Andy Van Solkema (Instructor) is a design and innovation leader with over 25 years of experience spanning graphic design, systems thinking, human-centered design, and business model innovation. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Grand Valley State University, a Master of Design in Design Leadership from Kendall College of Art and Design, and a Business Model Innovation certificate from the Wharton School of Business. Andy co-founded Physics of Creativity, an Innovation and Investment Studio, and has collaborated with organizations such as KitchenAid, Nest, Apple, Amazon, Caterpillar, Mayo Clinic, High Alpha Innovation, and Stryker.
Jennifer Yoo (Special Guest) is a design researcher, innovation strategist, and restaurateur. She is the founder and principal of Inventional, where she has worked with global clientele in industries including eCommerce, manufacturing, telehealth, workplace technology, and AI. Jennifer has also served as an innovation lead at Steelcase and co-owned Osito, a Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant in San Francisco. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English from Yale University and a dual-degree Master of Public Administration from Columbia SIPA and the London School of Economics.

The course costs $673 and a spot can be secured by completing a guest application on our website. Participants should look for MGMT 554 when registering for the course.
