On Wednesday, April 5 the Paul B. Henry Institute for the Study of Christianity and Politics at Calvin College will present a talk by Dr. David Long, formerly of the State Department. "The Legacy of the Reformed Church Mission Activity in Middle Eastern Politics" will be held in the Meeter Center Lecture Hall on campus at 3:30 p.m. Free and open to the public. Call 616-957-6806. 
The Calvin Academy for Lifelong Learning (CALL) will present a travelogue on Thursday, April 6 as part of its Passport to Adventure film series. "The Adventures of the Vikings" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. in the Calvin Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $4 for adults and $2.50 for students. Call 616-957-6142.

The annual Mellema Lecture on Western American Studies will be given by Calvin professor Will Katerberg on Wednesday, April 12, at 3:30 in the Meeter Center Lecture Hall. The topic is "Tall Tales: Stories from the Wild West," and will mark Katerberg's inaugural speech as the permanent director of the Mellema Program in Western American Studies. On Monday, April 17 the Paul B. Henry Institute for the Study of Christianity and Politics at Calvin College presents the annual Paul B. Henry Lecture. On Tuesday, April 25, at 7 p.m. in the Calvin Fine Arts Center, Calvin College presents a talk in honor of former English professor Lionel Basney, who died in the summer of 1999 in a drowning accident. The Department of Economics and Business at Calvin College presents a talk by Dr. Augusto de la Torre of the World Bank on Thursday, April 27 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel. His topic will be "Preventing International Financial Crises," especially addressing crises that have occurred in Latin America.
