- Thu, Jan 29, 2026
- 10:00 am–12:30 pm
Prince Conference Center Board Room
Gather with the Heritage Class and the William Spoelhof Society for an exclusive conversation with Tom Medema '87, Calvin alumnus and former National Park Ranger. Enjoy moderated conversation, led by January Series Director Michael Wildschut, Q&A, and a 30-minute documentary titled A Rally for Rangers.
The presentation will be followed by lunch and conversation, all held in the Prince Conference Center Board Room. After the event, enjoy Tom's January Series lecture in the Covenant Fine Arts Center Auditorium. His lecture is titled "America at 250: How Our National Parks Inspire a More Perfect Union."
Tickets are $10 and cover lunch and refreshments.
Transportation to the January Series
Last year, transportation to the Covenant Fine Arts Center was provided after the Lunch & Learn. This service has been discontinued for the 2026 event. Lunch will conclude around noon, so guests will have plenty of time to make their way across the Beltline before the 12:30 p.m. lecture. Thank you for your understanding!
About the Documentary
A Rally for Rangers follows the story of the Rally for Rangers movement and its work empowering under-equipped and often under appreciated rangers around the world with new motorcycles and equipment. The film highlights the difficulties and dangers in these rangers’ work and how the rallies are delivering critical tools to these front-line conservation heroes that help them do their jobs protecting some of the world’s most valuable, vulnerable, and sometimes life-sustaining natural and cultural resources for the benefit of us all.
