Faith Confronts Evil, a lunch & learn
Come hear the tale of two stories: one of courage, resilience, and faith as explored in the new book Faith Confronts Evil: From Birthmothers to Holy Women, African American Christian Women, 1619-1865 by the late Dr. Barbara Omolade, first Dean of Multicultural Affairs at Calvin College/University, with Dr. Susan Felch, emerita professor of English, Calvin University.
The second is that of two women: one African American and one white, whose friendship and Christian faith birthed this book.
Bring your lunch (if you want), receive a free copy of the book, and be encouraged by the African American women before the Civil War who countered the evil of slavery with the strength of their faith in God and by the friendship and faith of two women at Calvin. Registration is encouraged.
