Social media. We love it and hate it at the same time. We wrestle with our need to use it to raise awareness, to build and maintain relationships, and to create and keep customers for our businesses and organizations. And yet we struggle to engage social media well. How can we be fully human in a de-humanizing media landscape?
Join us at our Executive Breakfast Series on Tuesday, September 29, in the Prince Conference Center to hear Craig Mattson and Jill Risner talk about how biblical wisdom from the Beatitudes can reframe our view of social media and help us to be effective marketers and authentically fully human in a world that sorely needs both.
Craig and Jill have been working on a book about navigating social media with help from the Beatitudes. Dr. Craig Mattson is an organizational researcher, teacher, author and podcaster at Calvin University where he holds the Arthur H. Dekruyter Chair in Faith and Communication. Dr. Jill Risner currently teaches undergraduate and graduate students at the Calvin University School of Business. Prior to entering the academy, Jill started and operated a marketing consulting and graphic design business with her husband, Joshua. Their book takes a refreshingly Christian approach to social media engagement that offers wise digital behaviors for marketers and consumers alike.
