On-Camera Communication Workshop

In today’s competitive professional landscape, the ability to communicate clearly and confidently on camera is an increasingly valuable skill.
Whether preparing for interviews, public presentations, social media, organizational messaging, or professional storytelling, strong on-camera communication can help students and working professionals stand out.
This hands-on workshop will help participants develop the fundamentals of writing and delivering effective on-camera messages. Participants will learn how to craft remarks for spoken delivery, use a teleprompter effectively, and present themselves with confidence, authenticity, and credibility on camera.
Led by Professor Garth Pauley, with special guest instructor Rosalynn Bliss—former mayor of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and current assistant dean and chief external relations officer at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine—the workshop combines practical instruction with real-world insight into public communication, leadership, and message delivery.
Through guided practice and individualized feedback, participants will refine both their message and delivery.
By the end of the workshop, each participant will have a recording that demonstrates their progress and provides a useful example of their developing on-camera communication skills.
Space is limited to 10 participants to ensure personalized coaching, so early registration is encouraged.
