Calvin celebrates its 150th anniversary during the 2025–2026 school year, and our travel program is joining the celebration by exploring 10 countries across six continents. Join us as we commemorate Calvin’s global reach with an exciting line-up of tours.
Highlights
The central component to this tour is viewing theater performances at the Shaw Festival:
- Anything Goes
- Blues for an Alabama Sky
- Major Barbara
- Wait Until Dark
Participants will also enjoy a backstage tour, a jazz and blues choral session, an excursion to Niagara Falls, a visit to a local winery, and free time to explore Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Tour Hosts
Debra Freeberg, professor of theatre emerita, and Gary Schmidt, professor of English, have led multiple Calvin tours to the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario. They're looking forward to exploring new theaters with you at the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake! Each day, they'll host a discussion of the performances viewed the day before.
Pricing
- $2,145 USD per person from Grand Rapids, based on double occupancy
- $470 USD supplement for single-occupancy rooms
This pricing includes four nights at the lovely Pillar and Post Hotel, all Shaw Festival performances, transportation, and four dinners. Travel insurance ($148 double room, $222 single room) is available through TravelEx.
