The Hoogenboom Health and Recreation Center has the focus of core activity classes during the day and has a vibrant night life with intramural activities.

Hours for fall 2020 (gym and racquetball court):

Gym schedule:

The Hoogenboom Recreation Center will be open for drop in recreation, but on a weekly schedule.  At this time the facility is only open to current students and Calvin employees.  We are not yet open for employee spouses, student spouses, emeriti, or emeriti spouses.

  • Users are required to wear a mask 100% of the time while in the building.
  • Limit: 8 people per court.

Racquetball court schedule:

  • If you are not feeling well please stay home
  • 2 players maximum
  • Masks are required at all times
  • Maintain 6 feet of social distance at all times

The Hoogenboom Recreation Center is a multipurpose venue used for a variety of events. It also houses two dance studios, racquetball court, classrooms, conference rooms.

Quick facts

  • Can be set for 3 volleyball, 2 basketball or 8 badminton courts
  • Has over 700 students involved in intramural sports from basketball to wiffle ball
  • The HRC is usually open for recreational and intramural activities starting at 3:30 p.m. everyday
  • The dance studio and dance loft are the main location for the rehearsals of the Dance Guild and Rangeela - student groups with over 500 students
