Studios, smart classrooms, theaters and more.

The 58,000 square-foot DeVos Communication Center opened in 2002. This cutting-edge facility is the home for the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences’ 18 faculty, numerous staff, and nearly 400 undergraduate majors. It also houses the Department of Political Science, and the Paul Henry Institute for the Study of Christianity and Politics. Theatre faculty are here as well, though our theatre facilities are located elsewhere on campus. The building includes three floors. The below-ground level (actually, a walk-out in the back) is primarily for audio, video, and film production. The ground level is public space for six “smart classrooms” with all kinds of technology, a digital media lab, a small café, and an open lobby with lots of flexible seating. The top floor houses offices, along with the speech pathology and audiology facilities.
