Funded by the Calvin Center for Innovation in Business, the Award for Scholarship on Christianity and Business recognizes academic papers exemplifying Christian business scholarship.

Dr. Brett Smith, Cintas Endowed Professor of Entrepreneurship at Miami University, will be recognized for his work on the award-winning academic paper, Trying to Serve Two Masters is Easy, Compared to Three: Identity Multiplicity Work by Christian Impact Investors. The paper was co-authored by Amanda Lawson, Jessica Jones, Tim Holcomb, and Aimee Minnich.

As the Founding Director of L.I.F.E. (Leading the Integration of Faith & Entrepreneurship) Center at Miami University, Smith is opening pathways in higher education for the integration of faith and entrepreneurship for universities, scholars, students, and entrepreneurs. Smith's work focuses on academically rigorous, practically relevant research of faith-based entrepreneurship, with recent projects on identity and legitimacy issues of faith-based entrepreneurs, impact investors, and accelerators. His work has been featured in Financial Times, Forbes, Newsweek, and Time, as well as the Nelson Mandela Foundation, Tedx, and the United Nations.

Dr. Brett Smith will present his paper, answer questions, and receive his award.
