Money shouldn't feel like a mystery.
This video and the following details help explain things like billing, payment plans, financial aid and scholarship applications, and more.
Student Accounts
The Student Accounts office handles billing and payments. In other words, what you owe and how you pay.
That means help with:
Think of your bill as a simple breakdown. You have tuition, fees, housing, and meal plans.
Tuition statements are posted in Workday approximately one month prior to classes starting.
Payment is due five days before the start of class.
Students can sign up for a payment plan to pay in two or four payments per semester, with a fee.
Paying in full each semester is the default option unless the student selects a payment plan in Workday.
You can add a third party "proxy," such as a parent or guardian, to view and manage payments.
Multiple people can be added. For payment plans, the student must select the plan, but the proxy can view and make the payments.
Students can also give additional account access to a proxy, such as academic information and financial aid awards.

Financial Aid
The Financial Aid office helps you find and manage funding (scholarships, grants, and loans) to help cover costs of attending Calvin.
That means help with:
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) shows what federal student loans you'll qualify for, and is required to be considered for other state and institutional grants and award.
You should file the FAFSA every year you're at Calvin in order to renew the $2,000 FAFSA grant.
The FAFSA can feel complex, but the financial aid office can support you through the process.

These are scholarships funded by Calvin alumni and friends. There's just one application to be automatically considered for all named scholarships you qualify for.
Complete this application every year you're at Calvin! The application is opens December 1.
Award renewals take place after grades are submitted in the spring. You’ll receive an email about renewals in the early spring and early summer.
Key tips
- Pay attention to emails and ask questions early. If we're emailing you, it's important!
- The Career Center can support you in finding a job on or off campus
- Use Workday on your laptop instead of your phone. It's much easier to navigate and displays more options.
- Add a parent/guardian as a "proxy" to your account, if needed, to access/discuss financial information and pay bills. We are not allowed to discuss financial information with anyone unless they are listed as a proxy on your account.
- File the FAFSA and apply for named scholarships every year. This unlocks many financial aid opportunities!
