SAGA is a community of LGBTQ+ students and allies who gather weekly to create belonging, promote learning, and foster inclusivity.

Get involved

SAGA warmly welcomes new students at any time during the year! SAGA meets every Wednesday from 5:00-7:00pm. For more information, follow us on Instagram (@saga_calvin) and/or sign up for our weekly email by contacting the Coordinator for Student Support and Sexuality Programming.

If you are LGBTQ+ or straight at Calvin...

Because the church Calvin is affiliated with does not regard different sexual orienations as sinful and calls us to care well for our LGBTQ+ members (see crcna.org/welcome/beliefs/position-statements/homosexuality), Calvin seeks to be a safe place for LGBTQ+ and straight students to grow and learn. With the CRC denomination, we affirm that a student can be LGBTQ+ and a follower of Jesus Christ. It is our mission that all students will find a place at the university where they can be shaped for work and worship in God's kingdom. SAGA works to foster a climate where that is possible, and every student can learn about sexuality, gender, and relationships in light of their faith.
