Biography
Jason Stansbury holds the James and Judith Chambery Chair for the Study of Ethics in Business at Calvin University, where he has served on the Business faculty since 2008. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Jason came to appreciate the beauty and power of the Reformed tradition of historic Christianity in the 1990s, and in 2002 recognized a call to live the “always reforming” aspect of his Reformed faith as a business ethicist.
He is particularly interested in Christian moral imagination in business, as Christians strive to bring the moral resources of our faith to bear in business problem solving. To that end, he works to convene Christian scholars in business, in business ethics, and in moral theology to explore and develop those resources and applications. A former Executive Director of the Society for Business Ethics, Jason is also a Co-Convener of the Business Ethics Interest Group at the Society of Christian Ethics, and the Conference Coordinator for the 2024 Annual Conference of the Christian Business Faculty Association.
Jason also chairs the Jansma Series on Faith and Business, which convenes triennial symposia at the Calvin University School of Business on theological concepts in business ethics. He is a Co-Editor of the Journal of Religion and Business Ethics, and serves on the Editorial Board of Business Ethics Quarterly and the Editorial Review Boards of the Journal of Biblical Integration in Business and the Christian Business Academy Review. Jason received the Presidential Award for Service from the Society for Business Ethics in 2023.
