  • Completed a BA in geography and planning at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
  • Received his PhD in geography from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, 1978
  • Taught at Wilfrid Laurier University for seven years
  • Taught at University of Toronto
  • Joined GEO department in 1982, as the first full time PhD geographer at Calvin, hired to develop both geography and environmental studies programs
