Biography
Professor Riek is a social psychologist currently teaching Social Psychology (310) and Introduction to Psychology (151). He grew up in Johnson City, New York and received his BA in psychology from the State University of New York, College at Geneseo. He then received his MA and PhD from the University of Delaware.
Dr. Riek’s has two major lines of research. He is interested in studying the causes of prejudice and bias and finding ways to reduce them. His other line of research focuses on the psychology of forgiveness. Dr. Riek enjoys working with students on research and typically collaborates with student research assistants each semester.
