Barbara Novak

Speech Language Pathologist, Clinical Instructor

Biography

Barbara Novak is a Clinical Instructor at the Calvin College Speech Pathology Clinic.  She received her B.A. in Communication Disorders and Speech Science from the University of Colorado and earned her M.A. in Logopedics (Communication Disorders and Sciences) from Wichita State University, in Kansas.  Barbara has worked in a variety of professional settings, including schools, hospitals, sub-acute rehab, and outpatient clinics.  During her many years of clinical experience, she helped start the first post-concussion program in Grand Rapids, served as the Dysphagia Coordinator at Mary Free Bed Hospital, and has presented at multiple ASHA conventions.  Barbara’s focus has been neurologically impaired adults in the areas of speech, language, cognition, and dysphagia.
