Microsoft Office 365 is the official communication, collaboration, and productivity platform for Calvin University faculty, staff, and students.

With Office 365 teams can work together easily with anywhere access to email and collaboration tools. Office 365 also includes enterprise-class security.

You can access your email via these tools:

Log in using your Calvin email address and Calvin passphrase.

Student email accounts are created automatically when you become an official Calvin student.

Faculty and Staff accounts should be requested by the supervisor through the Employee Onboarding process when the new employee begins work at Calvin.

You have been assigned an email address that corresponds with your unique Calvin username. Your username cannot be changed unless you have done a legal name change. If you have legally changed your name, please contact your corresponding office.

If you have access to another account (generic or department account), you can access it by clicking your picture in the top right corner in OWA then choosing Open another mailbox. Type the email address you have access to and the mailbox will open in a new browser tab. If you're using the Outlook program on your computer, you will see the generic mailbox listed in the folder view under your personal mailbox.

If you need to perform a mail merge as a generic email account, you will need to know the passphrase of that account in order to log in directly to that mailbox. Only full generic email accounts that have a passphrase can be logged into directly. Click here to change the passphrase for a generic email account. If you do not know the passphrase to your generic email account, please contact the HelpDesk.

More information on opening and using shared mailboxes can be found Microsoft online support.

Outlook is the only officially supported application for accessing your Calvin University Office 365 email. You may use the IMAP settings for Office 365 if you wish to use another email/calendar application, however, CIT is unable to provide any support for other applications.
