The “Coastal Trail” is one of the most scenic and challenging stretches of backpacking east of the Rockies. The boreal forest and rocky coastline of Lake Superior Provincial Park is a backpacking paradise with secluded beaches, granite cliffs and overlooks, and steeply dropping rivers populated with waterfalls.

Students should anticipate moderate to challenging hiking, mastering backcountry living and travel skills, and plenty of time to enjoy the water and sandy beaches from primitive campsites.
